Happy International Peace Day!!
My (FIRST!!) tattoo appointment is at five, so I'll be taking off in a few... I'm SO nervous, but excited as well.
I'll post photos when I return (or at some point soon...)!
Oh, also for the edification of the group, I wanted to share that my artist charges $120/hour, $60 minimum. He estimated an hour or a tiny bit more for my design (will share also later)... Don't know how prices vary across the country, but I'll post about the final price, including tip on the next round.
Can't wait to see everyone's work!
Well, since I already have two origami crane tattoos, I figured today would be the day to get a lucky cat done.
I have one crane (green) on my left leg and one (red) on my right arm.
This is an amazing idea. :) Kudos to all who are getting one today.

Well, since September 21st is Wednesday I guess I won't be doing this this year, but it is an absolutely amazing idea. I love what the crane symbolizes and I've wanted a crane tattoo forever and I still plan to get one at some point. My plans for next September may make it difficult to do it next year, but come September 2007, I'll definitely have this idea in mind. Good luck to everyone who is getting tattooed on Wednesday and be sure to post pictures.

anyone find anymore good line drawing ideas for the tattoo? i know i want a line drawing, but need more shapes....
Hey Atlanta locals: I called sacred heart in L5P - they are open till 10 and the guy suggested we call in advance before showing up en masse. I am planning on calling them monday or tuesday of next week. How many people are we looking at so I can give them a count? Current Mood: Inky

So is everyone doing it this go around? In the other post I made the idea of waiting until next year came up, considering that there are nowhere near 1000 people interested yet. What are you guys' thoughts?
So, these are the images from my Google search. Originally I was going to post the links to where I found them also, but that got too crazy. I think the only searches I did were "cranes", "crane tattoos" (for which I got like nothing
) & "japanese cranes"...(FYI: I took the crane idea and went a little crazy with it. I ended up with something pretty far removed from the original origami crane concept... But I justify it by thinking that if the meaning is still there for me, then it has to count.)( 12 moreCollapse )
I am getting super-nervous (and excited) about my crane tattoo... My first step was to do the usual Google image search for crane images, which got the ideas flowing.
Then I emailed my tattoo artist of choice ( the rest of my silly story...Collapse )

I think this is really cool. I wish I hadn't come into it so close to the tattooing date. I really do love this idea and what it stands for, though. I'll definitely keep watch and if i can get up the gonads to do so... maybe even get tattooed.

Has anyone found any decent pictures(or drawn any) of cranes that might work for tattoos? I've got one on a box of crane paper that might work, but the internet is slightly less helpful. So far, the ones I find that look decent have pictures that are either too grainy, or too small...
Let's post up some suggestion pics!

Hey guys - I am such an idiot - I forgot to change the nameservers on the domain to point to my host. Now that it's done, the website is up! Right now it's completely basic, but we'd like to have possible art images, placement ideas and tattoo artist information on there. Plus anything else that seems like a good idea. However... tell your friends! Tell your enemies! Tell everyone:http://www.cranetattoo.com/

but we haven't forgotten about this.
I was thinking that it might be nice for people to list potential artists in their area.
I'm in Atlanta, and I know there's a new shop in Cabbagetown who did work on a friend and might be willing to see a lot of us. How many Atlantans do we have?
Also, need to figure out how to get the word a little farther out there. I guess that means we need to make a banner or something.
So. I guess I'll get on that. Feel free to submit your own in comments. Current Mood: awake
